Roads Policing Update |
||
|
Hello everyone
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share a quick round up of the work that your local Roads Policing Unit have been doing in your area, what's coming up and how we are working with partners to keep our roads safe for those living in, working in and visiting Pembrokeshire.
From what our communities have told us we have been focusing on:
Haverfordwest : Morrisons Car Park and Fishguard Road up to the Garage. Milford: Haven Drive South Pembs: Hundleton B4320. In addition to the above we have also been conducting additional proactive road safety patrols and speed enforcement in and around the County: These additional patrols are in in response to concerns raised with us by your local councillors, community representatives and local residents.
To effectively tackle these issues we have been working with: The Neighbourhood Policing & Prevention Team (NPPT) Pembrokeshire Response Policing Team The Local Authority Road Safety Team Local Councillors & Community Representatives These collaborations are helping us respond more effectively and holistically to community needs.
As a result we have: Conducted around 100 hours of dedicated road safety patrols and enforcement activity across Pembrokeshire. Dealt with nearly 75 road traffic offences through enforcement. Made 17 Drink or Drug Drive Arrests Made a number of arrests in connection with Drugs Supply Offences. Conducted a number of Drone Flights in support of policing operations such as High Risk Missing / Vulnerable Persons searches.
In addition to the above, advanced riders from our Police Motorcycle Team have been busy helping with the successful delivery of “Bike Safe” courses, helping riders of all experience levels to improve their riding skills and stay safe on the roads. Operation APEX (our ongoing Motorcycle Safety Campaign which aims to reduce the number of serious road traffic collisions involving motorcyclists). Operation Spotlight (which targets the FATAL 5 driving offences - Drink & Drug Driving, Speeding, Mobile Phone Use & No Seatbelts) 2 Wheel Operation (which aims to improve the safety of vulnerable road users as well as targeting the illegal and anti-social use of E-bikes and E-Scooters). This coming month we will continue to target the issues affecting our communities by participating in the following Road Safety Campaigns: Operation Spotlight (which targets the FATAL 5 driving offences - Drink & Drug Driving, Speeding, Mobile Phone Use & No Seatbelts) Op Topaz/Ghost Plate Operation (proactively targeting vehicles fitted with “Ghost Plates”)
Thank you for your continued support and engagement.
